Immersive Theater ExhibitImmersive Theater

The signature experience of INFINITY is an exhilarating, 6-8-minute, 3D media event. The presentation in the Immersive Theater serves as the introduction and orientation to INFINITY.

Throughout the film, 3D animations give visitors spectacular examples of the kind of 3D modeling created at Stennis Space Center as a tool for understanding scientific phenomena. The film begins with a stunning 3D fly through that transports visitors “from the depths of the ocean to the farthest reaches of space.” The fly through then zooms back through the solar system to Earth and down to the Gulf region to Stennis Space Center.

Audio Narration:
  • Welcomes visitors to INFINITY at Stennis Space Center.
  • Tells them that INFINITY is unique among science centers because it was created as a place for the scientists, engineers, and technicians at Stennis to share the important work they do with the public.
  • Introduces the main themes of INFINITY— How scientists study Earth as an interconnected, life-supporting system.
  • Explains how NASA is applying a systems approach to the exploration of other planets and hopes to extend human life into space by creating life support systems that can take us from Earth’s safe haven to less hospitable environments.
  • Shows how the path to space begins in Hancock County and every NASA astronaut rides on rocket engines tested at Stennis Space Center.
  • The narrator invites visitors to explore INFINITY’s galleries where they can try out the tools used by scientists to explore Earth and the solar system.
  • Encourages them to take part in a mission -- becoming “scientists in training" -- investigating tough issues currently being tackled by scientists at Stennis.
